After the Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad threatened Bhima Koregaon-like violence if there was "tampering with the Constitution", Republic TV confronted him. The Bhim Army chief defended his statement and justified it as well saying he was speaking about revolution and not violence.

"You don't know about the Bhima Koregaon incident. The event is a war which took place in 1818 which the Mahar regiment fought and won for its freedom from slavery. If the Constitution is removed from the country which could happen with the way Modi and BJP government is working, the Bahujan will have to fight for their honour. If there is no Constitution, the powerful will not allow the weak to live. So if the Constitutional rights end, the people will have to fight to achieve it.

"The Bhima Koregon riots which happened in 2018 was carried by the BJP goons as they are allergic to the freedom of Bahujan. We will not allow the Manuvadi condition to be implemented," he said.

Azad had made an open call for threat earlier on Friday saying that he will repeat a 'Bhima Koregaon-like violence' in the country if the Constitution is tampered with.

In a video accessed by Republic TV, Chandrashekhar Azad can be seen addressing a rally and openly calling for 'Bhima-Koregaon-like violence' threats, citing the hampering of the Constitution as an excuse.

‘Listen carefully, before you vote remember the martyrdom of Rohith. Do you remember Rohith Vemula? Do you remember UNA Kand (incident)? Do you remember Shabbirpur? Do you remember Phagwara incident? Who pulled the trigger? Who killed our people? Will you forget all these and vote? Go ahead and vote, but remember this, opressor will always remain opressor. That's why I said, we will repeat Bhima Koregaon. This is a matter of country's respect. We will repeat Bhima Koregaon," Chandrashekhar Azad said while addressing a rally.
