While it is rare to mention politicians and comic actors in the same breath, as the later are loud critics of the former, an Indian politician has shared the work of the greatest comedic actor of the world.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday shared a video espousing a speech from the legendary comic actor Charlie Chaplin's movie 'The Great Dictator'.

On the occasion of Chaplin's 130th birth anniversary, Yadav has shared one of the most iconic scenes from his film 'The Great Dictator'. He has said that on the occasion of his birth anniversary to remember to stand up for a better world.

Chaplin was the hero of silent films and a worldwide icon. He was known to perform funny tasks which used to leave the audience in splits.

Chaplin, originally named Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. Even after more than 40 years of his death, he is considered the most iconic comedic figure in the film industry.

His career spanned over 75 years, with his screen persona 'The Tramp' becoming a household name.

Akhilesh Yadav who has been tweeting on sports and entertainment during the polls season on Monday tweeted about the ICC World Cup.

He conveyed his best wishes to Virat Kohli’s men by comparing the team to the spirit of India, ‘diverse, different, and truly powerful.'

Hours after Chief Selector MSK Prasad announced the squad in Mumbai, Yadav tweeted, “Our team is an example of what India is like — diverse, different, and truly powerful. Our unity is our strength. I wish Team India the very best — a billion Indians are with you.”
