After P. Chidambaram's arrest by the CBI officials, son, Karti Chidambaram left from his Chennai home to New Delhi on Thursday morning after a dramatic night at the AICC and subsequently at Chidambaram's residence.

Last night, speaking to the media, Karti reiterated his father, Chidambaram's words that were uttered during the Congress press brief at the AICC headquarters, saying that there is no charge sheet and no case against him and his father. On being asked about probe against him and his father in the INX Media case and other related cases, Karti targeted the CBI and claimed that if the agencies have evidence against them, they should file a charge sheet.

He said, "There is no chargesheet because there is no case. If the agencies have evidence, they should file a charge-sheet. Why are they not filing a chargesheet? There is still no chargesheet after so many summons and questioning," Karti Chidambaram said minutes after his father was arrested.

On being questioned over his father P Chidambaram's arrest, the Congress party leader maintained that the former Home Minister was in attendance of every summon issued by the investigative agency and that he was not absconding as opposed to the claims. Karti Chidambaram went on to state that they will go to the court and "will be vindicated".

"My father was not absconding. He has attended every summons issued to him. When a person's anticipatory bail is rejected, it is not mandatory for him to go and offer himself to any agencies. ED has summoned him a number of times and he has appeared every time. We will go to the court, we will be vindicated eventually," he added.

Along with Karti reaching the national capital, the Congress party is expected to hold a press brief at 10 AM on Thursday morning.
