Retired Brigadier V Mahalingam has reacted to the recently released video which brings to light an infiltration attempt by the BAT of Pakistani Army with terrorists being caught on camera. On being asked about Pakistan’s action while speaking to Republic TV, the Brigadier said that actions were expected ever since the Indian government decided to abrogate Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

The Brigadier's take on Pak's failed attempts

'It was expected from the moment Article 370 was repealed. It was quite clear that Pakistan was going to up the ante. In fact, as far as I can see, there is a motive behind this. Pakistan has failed to bring international attention as far as the particular issue is concerned. The people of the world have said it clearly that this is an internal matter between India and Pakistan', he was quoted saying.

Speaking about the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, he said, 'He has been going ahead and telling that a war between India and Pakistan is imminent and both the countries being nuclear weapon countries, there is a threat of a nuclear war. In order to perpetuate India and force it to do something stupid, Pakistan is doing all this. It is attempting to infiltrate people inside. When such incidents happened earlier during the Surgical and the Balakot strikes, the Indian army or the Indian defence forces attacked Pakistan across the LOC. Pakistan is hoping for such things to happen so that it can take the instance and take it to the world bodies and internationalise the issue.'
