Former Jammu & Kashmir CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has expressed his displeasure over the fact that China blocked the resolution at the UNSC to designate JeM chief Masood Azhar as a 'global terrorist' on Thursday.
Taking to Twitter, moments after China used its veto power to block the resolution, Omar quipped that Pakistan got the decision in its favor yet again.
"China places a “technical hold” on Masood Azhar in the UN again! Pakistan gets its way once again," his post read.
Despite four permanent members of the UNSC backing the resolution, China decided to not back it, stating it needs more time to assess the request. This becomes the fourth occasion in the past 10 years that the country has blocked a move to designate Jaish chief as a global terrorist.
Following were the nations which extended support to India in designating the JeM chief as global terrorist:
Permanent Members:
- United Kingdom
- France
- United States of America
- Russia
Non permanent members:
- Belgium
- Cote d'Iviore
- Germany
- Indonesia
- Kuwait
- Peru
- Poland
- South Africa
- Equatorial Guinea
