With no handshake or meet and greet at the SCO Summit with the Imran Khan, PM Narendra Modi gave Pakistan the snub at the SCO summit.
In the picture from the cultural event below indicates how India's shunned Pakistan through the entire event. Leaders of the neighbouring countries, PM Modi and the Pakistan PM are seen sitting at a distance apart from each other in the picture below.
Earlier on Thursday ahead of the SCO Summit, India had reconfirmed that the Prime Minister will not have any kind of conversation with Pakistan PM Imran Khan except unavoidable public exchange. In a major step, Prime Minister decided not to use Pakistan air space while travelling to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, despite the Pakistan authority allowing PM Modi to use their air space.
PM Narendra Modi did not have any bilateral talks with the Pakistan PM.
In fact, when Imran Khan's flight landed at Bishkek, PM Modi was holding talks about terror emanating from Pakistan with Chinese President Xi Jinping as the Pakistan PM's flight landed in Bishkek. India put forth its position pertaining to Pakistan, and told the Chinese President that there is a need for Pakistan to create an atmosphere 'free to terrorism' fortifying its stand that 'talks and terrorism' don't go parallel. China is known to be Pakistan's 'all weather friend' in the international community.
PM Modi also told the Chinese President that the strategic communications have improved between the two nations and that the listing of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar as designated terrorist in the UNSC was an indicator of the same.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held talks with Russia President Vladimir Putin. During the talks, both the leaders showed fantastic bonhomie.
Meanwhile, although it was announced by the Pakistan government on Twitter that the Imran Khan was expected to conduct meetings with other leaders present at the Summit, he is not known to have done so yet.
Tensions between India and Pakistan had heightened following the Pulwama terror attack and the airstrike across the LoC by India at Pak-backed terror camps.
