Pakistani fishing boat 'AL-MADINA' apprehended by Indian Coast Guard near Gujarat coast, 194 packets of narcotics substance seized

The Indian Coast Guard has apprehended a Pakistani fishing boat 'AL-MADINA' along with six crew members near the Jakhau coast in Gujarat on Tuesday. The coast guard team seized 194 packets of narcotics substance from the six-member crew. The boat was first escorted to Jakhua where the investigation is underway. 

The India coast guard Twitter handle gave out the full information of the event in which it mentioned that the entire operation was carried out based on the inputs from DRI, ATS and other investigative agencies. Take a look:

Around last year, the Indian Coast Guard had apprehended a Pakistani fishing boat along with nine crew members off the Gujarat coast, officials said.

Indian Coast Guard ship C-408 seized a Pakistani boat, which had entered the Indian waters, with 9 crew members off Jakhau coast of Kutch district of Gujarat around 1500 hours on March 24, Coast Guard officials had said.

The fishing boat left the Shah Bunder base port in Pakistan at about 1400 hours on March 23. On sighting the Indian Coast Guard, the Pakistan boat crew members tried to flee. The Indian Coast Guard ship intercepted the Pakistan boat around 3 pm.

"The boat and the Pakistani crew members have been brought to Jakhau port and the crew members were then interrogated by the security agencies," they added.
