Pak's fake Kashmir propaganda busted: India's MEA takes note as 'blue tick' handles peddle fake incendiary news, Twitter yet to act

The spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar spoke about Republic TV's action against social media accounts belonging to Pakistan stooges hatemongering and warmongering over the integration of Kashmir with the rest of India.

Until recently, it were only Pakistanis who were spreading out anti-India propaganda through heavily edited videos with the intention of creating panic in the people of Kashmir about their fate after revocation of Article 370, as well as those claiming that there is a huge uproar in the valley over the matter despite top military officials as well as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval being in Kashmir and in touch with the locals and security forces. Over several days since the abrogation of Article 370, reports from the ground have shown that the region is returning to normalcy with schools and colleges running and food and medical aid being delivered by the Securit Forces. But now, Pakistan ministers also have indulged in the nefarious activity brazenly.

The MEA responded to Republic's question on what action will be taken against the people in positions in the Pakistani government and Pak-nationals on social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook warmongering. The spokesperson of the MEA Raveesh Kumar said that the matter will be taken through I&B ministry and with the Pakistan High Commission via the Ministry of External Affairs. Below is his statement:

"In the information warfare, you know perhaps a generation of people in that country, they have been fed upon a certain narrative and that narrative is sometimes supported by the official propaganda machine. My sense is that on many counts people see through those designs, you know, they do see through that, this is a machine, a propaganda which is in progress. 

"Frankly, I would trust the statement, the speech, and the points highlighted by my Prime Minister publically, which is very positive, which has a vision, which is full of hope than the propaganda which tries to paint a doomsday picture about the situation. In what is going to happen speculative as predicting, what is going to happen in future, I would definitely go by something which is more hopeful and more positive and which is based on facts than something which is based on unsubstantiated facts and figures here and there," he said.

On what action the MEA will take on social media accounts peddling fearmongering and warmongering, he said:

"Yes, we will see if there are handles which are pushing out a narrative which is incendiary, which is promoting violence then I think that is something which we will definitely take into account. That again brings me to the original point that from their side, they would like to project a panic situation and they would like to project a war-like situation and that is why we don't feel that is the case and neither I think, the international community feels that there is a war-like situation that exists," he said.
