Former Member of Parliament from Bihar, Pappu Yadav, has slammed the Bihar's Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey for his offensive behaviour and shouting on protesters who were seeking accountability from the minister for his unfulfilled promises with regards to healthcare facilities in the State. In an exclusive conversation with Republic TV, Pappu Yadav has criticised the state's health minister saying the doctors of the government hospitals have given up on the government citing poor infrastructural facilities. "Please check the poor conditions of the PMC hospital and Patna's AIIMS hospital where the doctors have already given up citing poor infrastructure and insist the patients to visit private hospitals as the government doctors say they can't help due to poor facilities," said Pappu Yadav.

Bihar CM criticised Ashwini Kumar Choubey

Pappu Yadav also quipped on the worsened relation between the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Yadav and cabinet minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Pappu Yadav recalled how the Bihar CM had criticised Choubey saying that there should be a legal case on Choubey and he should be put behind the bars. Pappu Yadav also quipped on the statements of Ashwini Kumar Choubey who said that he can't help to curb the Dengue menace as Dengue has hit Bihar due to increased temperature and bad weather condition and the disease will stop only when the temperature decreases in the state. "When we have to live at the mercy of our luck and fate then what is the use of spending crores of rupees in contesting elections in the democracy and electing a spineless government who cannot take care of its citizens," Pappu Yadav opined.

Speaking further on the uncalled behaviour of Choubey, Pappu Yadav added, "If they (citizens) have garlanded us and elected us to a powerful position then they have the right to slap us with shoes, after all, we are their servants and not kings".

Bihar Health Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey had visited a hospital when he came across a group of protestors who sought accountability from Choubey for the promises he made that he will fulfill within a month but the promises remained unfulfilled even after three months. Choubey instead of answering their questions, resorted to heckling and abusing the protestors.

In the aftermath of incessant rainfalls in Bihar leading to the flash floods in September-October this year, over 1,000 people had been tested positive for dengue in the state including nearly half the number from the capital city Patna due to waterlogged streets in the region. Most cases were from areas that witnessed heavy water logging in Patna.
