The Parliament witnessed a stormy session on Friday as Rahul Gandhi-led Congress raised the Rafale debate in the Lok Sabha.

In an acrimonious debate in parliament on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "hiding in his room" and "lacking the guts" to face questions on the Rafale jet deal before being targeted in a lacerating rejoinder by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for what he called "repeated lies".

Rahul Gandhi put up "four questions" related to the Rafale deal for 36 jet fighters, repeating his allegations that the government settled for a less-than-favorable deal to help industrialist Anil Ambani.

Defence Minister on Rafale jet deal in Lok Sabha: Senior members of the Opposition don't want to hear my answers. It is very disheartening. This country needs to know that Defence purchases are national security-related and very important, whether they are in power or we are.
