The ongoing financial crisis encountered by Jet Airways has been in the news for a long time. However, on Wednesday, the airline took to Twitter officially announced the suspension of all their domestic and international flights without any further delay.

The sorrowful tweet posted by Jet Airways read:

A link included in the tweet encompassed the official statement of the airline’s CEO Vinay Dube.

"Late last night we were informed by SBI, on behalf of the consortium of Indian lenders, that they are unable to consider our request for interim funding. Since no emergency funding from the lenders or any other source of funding was forthcoming, it would therefore not have been possible for us to pay for fuel or other critical services to keep the operations going," it read.

Explaining his dilemma, the CEO added, "A decision like this is never easy to make, but without the interim funding, which we have been repeatedly requesting for, we are simply unable to conduct flight operations in a manner that delivers to the very reasonable expectations of our guests, employees, partners and service providers."

This airline’s final verdict made many of its frequent flyers sentimental as they took to twitter and expressed their grief.

Some netizens also reminisced over the comfort bought to them by the airline during their journey which made their flying experience a beautiful one.

Gul Panag also shared a ‘heartbreak’ emoticon over the discontinuation of Jet Airways.
