Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Global Investors Meet at Dharmshala on Thursday. The Prime Minister in his address spoke about economic reforms taken to improve the ease of doing business in the country. He also said the Government is working towards the welfare of the middle-class families in the country.
The Prime Minister said the government is working towards providing easy housing facilities for middle-class families and said citizens won't have to wait for years to fulfill their dreams of owning a house. "Union Cabinet yesterday took a big decision, keeping in mind the dream of around 4.50 lakh middle-class families to own a house. This decision will benefit around 4.50 lakh, home buyers," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister at the summit also spoke about promoting business opportunities for Himachal Pradesh and said the state has ample opportunities for tourism and other business opportunities. "We need to think about how the unique properties of every district need to be explored and presented to the globe. There are a lot of opportunities in Himachal. A lot remains untapped even today," he said. "Today, tourism is being promoted as a package in India. From nature, adventure, spiritual, medical or eco, all types of tourism are being given equal weight. Himachal Pradesh is full of opportunities and potential in this regard," he further added.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the ease of doing business rankings in India that jumped massively recently and said the rankings indicate the Government reforms have helped the country on grassroots level.
"The massive jump in Ease of Doing Ranking for India isn't just a statistical change. It means our Govt is taking decisions that have helped the industrial grassroots mechanism get better. This is not just a rise in Ease of Doing Business rankings, but a revolution in the way business is done in India. It is a major revolution for Industry in India. We are adding new layers annually, making it more flexible and better," the PM said.
