PM Modi, Amit Shah pay tributes on the 17th anniversary of Parliament attack

On December 13, 2001, five terrorists stormed into the Parliament and opened fire, killing nine people and injuring a further 22

On the 17th anniversary of the Parliament attack, in which nine people, including civilians, were killed and a further 22 were injured, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah lead the way by paying tributes to all those who were affected by the gruesome terrorist activity which shook the nation.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi honored the bravery and courage of all those who were martyred on December 13, 2001. His social media post read, "We salute the valour of those who were martyred during the dastardly attack on our Parliament on this day in 2001. Their courage and heroism inspires every Indian."

BJP President Amit Shah also paid his tributes on the occasion. His Twitter message read, "I pay my tribute to all the soldiers and security forces who bravely fought the terrorists during the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001. The nation will always be indebted to you for this supreme sacrifice."

A number of other political leaders also hailed the brave hearts who fought vigorously and saved a number of lives on December 13, 2001.
