Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday celebrated the holy festival of Raksha Bandhan with young girls and women coming from all walks of life trying Rakhi on his hands. In a video montage shared by news agency ANI, PM Modi can be seen celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the young schoolgirls and women from across the country at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.
Along with tying Rakhi on his hands, little girls can be seen giving him presents to PM Modi including handmade greeting cards and books amid the celebrations.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had taken to Twitter to extend greetings to the nation on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
In a double celebration on August 15, Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day fell on the same day. Raksha Bandhan marks the celebrations of the bond between brothers and sisters. On the occasion, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal also tied rakhi to security personnel at her residence in Delhi.
