PM Modi expressed happiness over learning that Ayush TV organised the "Bengaluru Maha Utsav 2019" on the occasion of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. In a message to Ayush TV, PM Modi expressed the hope that Bengaluru Maha Utsav 2019 promotes and encourages health and well-being as a mass movement and inspires people to live a stress-free healthy and spiritual life. He also said that the weaving together of different strands such as health and wellness, spiritualism as well as patriotism is an appreciable initiative. 

"Yoga holds the panacea for the modern-day challenge being faced by individuals, societies, and nations the world over. Yoga can play a critical role in bringing about a harmonious balance between the physical body and the mind," PM Modi said in the message.

Prime Modi launches 'Fit India' movement

Earlier in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Fit India Movement' and said that health consciousness is the key to good health. Speaking at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi, PM urged all to make it a mass movement similar to that of Swaach Bharat Mission. Several celebrities and renowned athletes supported PM Modi's 'Fit India Movement' initiative. From Bollywood celebrities like Shilpa Shetty to Badminton World Champion PV Sindhu, celebrities urged people to take to fitness and follow a healthy lifestyle.
