Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reached Nashik to kickstart his BJP campaign for the state of Maharashtra's upcoming polls. During his address to the public, he said that the crowd in the Nashik rally has surpassed the one in Indori’s April rally.

PM Modi talked about April rally

He Said, “In April, Lok Sabha elections were just around the corner and it was very hot and I had come to Indori for a campaign. I had come to seek your blessings,” while also adding “That campaign saw such a rush that the energies created such vibrations that helped strengthen BJP’s wave in the entire country.”

He praised the Nashik crowd by saying “Now I’m seeing that Nashik has surpassed April’s record-breaking rally too. I can see that the crowd has no end.” He also, while calling out to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his team, said that such a crowd has come to bless them all.

Modi's visit comes ahead of the Maharashtra elections

PM Modi’s visit comes ahead of the Maharashtra polls that are scheduled to take place next month, with the EC's announcement on the dates expected in the next few days. Modi The Prime Minister was addressing the concluding rally of 'Mahajanadesh Yatra' undertaken by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. 

On a related note, Fadnavis, on Wednesday, held a roadshow in Nashik, covering all three Assembly segments - Nashik East, Nashik West and Nashik Central. All these seats are currently held by BJP MLAs.

The BJP and Shiv Sena are yet to finalise their seat-sharing for the upcoming polls, with Sanjay Raut calling for a 50-50 split on the very same day. The NCP and Congress, who were soundly defeated in the recent Lok Sabha polls, are also splitting seats 50-50 between themselves, with the remaining going to ally parties.
