Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a crowd in Haryana today exclaimed how the entire nation came together on September 7. He further stated that people talk of sportsman spirit, but it is the time for 'ISRO Spirit' at the moment. PM Modi had met ISRO Chief K Sivan hours after it had announced that ISRO had lost communication with the lander, Vikram. PM Modi, who was witnessing the entire grandeur from Bangalore was seen consoling the anguished ISRO chief.

Chandrayaan-2, a highly complex vision, attempted technological advancements that were not witnessed by the people of the country before. K Sivan in a statement said that Chandrayaan-2 was close to being 100% successful. He declared that Chandrayaan-2 had two motives, to showcase 'science and technology demonstration'. Sivan further stated that the orbiter had achieved the science part.
"Through Chandrayaan 2 we achieved - science and technology demonstration. The science is mainly achieved by Orbiter and the technology demonstration was for the Lander and rover. The data will provide us new science. The orbiter has already completed the science part of the mission," he said.
K Sivan on September 8 notified the public that ISRO has managed to click a photo of Vikram, the lander. They have been successful in spotting the location of Vikram leading them to click a thermal image of the lander. ISRO is yet to establish contact with Vikram. Although K Sivan asserted that he is hopeful about establishing communication soon.
