Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the crowd on the occasion of the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor. The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the much-awaited corridor. During his address, Prime Minister remembered the teachings of Guru Nanak and congratulated Sikhs around the world. 

Dedicates Kartarpur to the country

"Today being present here at this holy land, I feel delighted. This is my honour that I am dedicating the Kartarpur corridor to the country. I am as delighted as you all feel during ‘Kar Seva’. I congratulate every Sikh around the world," the Prime Minister said. "Today at this holy land in front of Guru Granth I pray that his blessings always stay with me. The opening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor before the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji has brought us immense happiness," he further added.

'It will be easier for us to seek blessings at Gurudwara Darbar Sahib'

The Prime Minister also thanked the those involved from the Indian side and the Pakistani side in the completion of the corridor. 

"After the completion of this corridor, it will be easier for us to seek blessings at Gurudwara Darbar Sahib. I thank the Government of Punjab,  Shiromani Gurudwara Committee and every person involved in completion of this corridor," he said. “I also thank the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for understanding India’s emotions towards Kartapur corridor and working towards it. I would also like to thank the people in Pakistan who made it possible to complete the corridor in time," he added.

'Energy of Guruvani from Kartarpur will give bless all Indians'

The Prime Minister also remembered the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

"The energy of Guruvani from Kartarpur will give blessings not only to our Sikh brothers but also to every Indian.Kartarpur is not only the ‘karma bhumi’ of Guru Nanak Devji, but his voice and the smell of sweat of Guru Nanak Devji is found in every particle of Kartapur," the Prime Minister said. 

The 4.2-km long Kartarpur corridor is a border corridor between India and Pakistan that will connect the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. The inauguration will facilitate the Indian Pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartapur Sahib in Pakistan.
