Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been an ardent follower of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ideology and has always praised Sardar Patel's vision of ‘United India’. While addressing the rally in Kevadiya on his birthday, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the visionary freedom fighter, stating that his statue (Statue of Unity) appears to be blessing us all.
On the Sardar Sarovar Dam reaching its highest level, PM Modi said in his speech, “On one side, we see Sardar Sarovar Dam with electricity-generating machines, whereas on the other hand, we see arrangement of the beautiful Ekta Nursery, Butterfly Garden, Cactus Garden, Eco-Tourism; and above all, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s magnificent Statue among appears to be blessing us all”
Explaining the importance of September 17, PM Modi also said that the day celebrates the divine architect Lord Vishwakarma.
PM Modi while hailing Lord Vishwakarma said, “Today happens to be Vishwakarma Jayanti, a day when the divine architect is celebrated. Today, Vishwakarma’s potential and the will to accomplish a mammoth task is necessary for the vision that we have for India. We pray that Lord Vishwakarma's blessings be bestowed upon us all. The Sardar Sarovar Dam and the Statue of Unity both are the symbol of the vision that Sardar Patel and we share for the nation. I firmly believe that his inspiration will lead us to achieve all the goals and the vision we have set for the nation.
Along with Vishwakarma Jayanti, PM Modi reminded us of the historic importance of the day, the date on which Hyderabad acceded to India in 1948.
PM Modi appended, “Today along with Vishwakarma Jayanti, September 17 is also known for another historic achievement that was a crucial part of Sardar Patel’s vision. On this date in 1948, Hyderabad acceded in India.”
Following Sardar's vision, the Prime Minister also mentioned how Kashmir has been integrated into India with a hope of prosperity and progress.
"Had India not had a visionary leader like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, we wouldn’t have witnessed the reality of a unified India that we live in today. His dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’ (One India best India) has become a reality of India today. The dream that Sardar once envisioned for India has been fulfilled today. For 70 years, people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh had to suffer discrimination. As a result, violence and separatism had thrived which the nation has suffered. With Sardar Patel's inspiration, the nation has taken a historic decision of unifying Kashmir with India. I strongly believe that with the help of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh's people we as a nation will move forward on the path of prosperity and development."
