The PM spoke of Jaitley’s illness and how that never came between his work for the nation. He further added that even in his last moments, Jaitley would never speak or comment on his health. He would only enquire about the country and its probable future. The late Finance Minister with his legal background and magnificent oratory skills was a top-notch parliamentarian and his absence in the field of politics will be deeply felt.

PM Modi remembering the late Arun Jaitley spoke of how his death has affected him. He further added that losing a talented person like him has left a huge impact on his life. Furthermore, he stated that the former Finance Minister was only interested in serving the nation. On the day of his demise, Modi spoke of how the death of Arun Jaitley has been a 'personal loss' for him.

The BJP held a condolence meet for the late Arun Jaitley on Tuesday. The 'Shradhanjali' programme was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Apart from PM Modi, several diplomats and dignitaries along with Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was present. Members of Vichar Manch which includes Sangh Parivar, Marg Darshak Mandal, and BJP's Rashtriya Karya Samiti Sadasya had also been invited. The former Finance Minister's family also attended the condolence meet.
