Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 8 AM on Saturday, in the backdrop of Chandrayaan-2's lander 'Vikram' losing contact with ground stations. Earlier in the day, contact from the lander to the ground stations was lost during its powered descent to the Lunar surface minutes before the planned touch-down. Talking about the same, Modi in his speech to ISRO scientists on Saturday morning said, 'The best is yet to come in our space programme; India is with you.'
Prime Minister said that every Indian is filled with pride and confidence. He said ISRO scientist's hardwork and determination has ensured a better life for not just the citizens for India but also for other nations. "We will rise to the occasion and scale newer heights of success. To our scientists I want to say- India is with you! You are exceptional professionals who have made an incredible contribution to national progress," Modi said in his speech. Watch the video of his speech that was delivered at 8 AM.
He also said: "To our scientists I would like to say" India is with you and the best is yet to come." Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the scientists at the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) Monitoring Centre in Bengaluru after the contact with the Chandrayaan-2 'Vikram' lander was lost minutes before it was about to land on the lunar surface. Speaking to the ISRO scientists, PM Modi asked them to be courageous and said that the country is proud of them. Adding that there are ups and downs in life, PM Modi appealed them to hope for the best.
