President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu express their condolences on Sheila Dikshit's demise

President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his heartfelt condolences for the passing away of the former chief minister. He termed her tenure at the office as a period of momentous transformation for Delhi for which she will always be remembered. He also extended his condolences to her family and her associates.

President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his heartfelt condolences for the passing away of the former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. He termed her tenure at the office as a period of momentous transformation for Delhi for which she will always be remembered. He also extended his condolences to her family and her associates.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also took to Twitter to grieve the former chief minister's death. He expressed profound sorrow and grief over the demise of Sheila Dixit and he termed her as a good administrator.  

Dikshit led Congress party to three consecutive electoral victories in Delhi. In the December 2013 elections to the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Dikshit was defeated in New Delhi constituency by Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, who replaced her as Delhi's chief minister. Subsequently, she was sworn in as Governor of Kerala on 11 March 2014. The Congress party fought the recent Lok Sabha elections in Delhi under her leadership.
