Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Kumbh at Prayagraj on Sunday, an official statement said on Saturday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Kumbh at Prayagraj on Sunday, an official statement said on Saturday. 

PM Modi will take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj after which he will interact with the sanitation employee at the Swachh Kumbh Swachh Aabhaar event, which is organized by Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Later, he will distribute the Swachh Kumbh Swachh Aabhaar awards to 'Safai karmacharis' (sanitation employees), 'swachhagrahis', police personnel and 'naviks' (boatmen).

"There will also be the digital announcement of Swachh Seva Samman Benefits package," said the statement issued by Prime Minister's Office.

Earlier on February 13, BJP party president Amit Shah was at Prayagraj where he took a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela. He was joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who took the holy dip for a second time this Kumbh.

Following the holy dip, Amit Shah, along with the seers and saints, also performed an aarti at the Kumbh.

Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi addressed his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' broadcast, however suspended the broadcast for March and April saying that he would be back with the programme in May after the Lok Sabha election.

PM Modi began his addressed 'with a heavy heart' and paid tribute to the soldiers who attained martyrdom in the Pulwama terror attack. Not only this, but Prime Minister also spoke about the strength shown by the families of martyrs even in the time of grief.
