Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets grand welcome in Bhutan, interacts with students in Thimpu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day state visit to Bhutan. PM Modi arrived in Paro on Saturday and is scheduled to hold talks pertaining to bilateral ties. On his arrival, the Prime Minister received a grand welcome.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted out a couple of videos showing the visuals of people welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In one of the videos, people were seen waving the Indian Tricolour and Bhutanese flags as Prime Minister Modi's convoy passed through the route from Paro to Thimpu:

Apart from this, more people came out in considerable numbers giving a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Bhutanese youth lined up and added to the hospitality showered upon PM Modi:

In addition, Prime Minister Modi also interacted with students, teachers and villagers while on his way to Thimpu. Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotay Tshering tweeted pictures of the same and wrote:

"This reinforces the fact that he is very down-to-earth and real."

During the visit, PM Modi would hold talks with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his Bhutanese counterpart on the entire gamut of bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi will also address young Bhutanese students at the prestigious Royal University of Bhutan.
