In a joint press briefing in the presence of IG Kashmir S P Pani and IG CRPF Zulfiqar Hasan on Tuesday, Corps Commander Lt Gen K J S Dhillon of the Chinar Corps said that the Pulwama terror attack was masterminded by Jaish-e-Mohammed which was backed by Pakistan Army and its secret service agency ISI.
"The complete attack on the convoy was masterminded by Pakistan, ISI and the JeM from across the border", said Corps Commander Lt Gen K J S Dhillon during the joint press briefing.
According to the officer, security forces had been tracking the top leadership of the JeM since the February 14 bombing in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Lt General Dhillon also went on to urge the mothers of Kashmiri militants to persuade their sons to surrender.
"I would like to tell one thing to parents of the local youth especially the mothers as I understand and know that a mother has a great role to play in Kashmiri society. I request all mothers of Kashmir, please tell your sons who have joined terrorism to surrender and get back to the to the mainstream."
In a strong message to terrorists and terrorist backers in Jammu and Kashmir, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Corps Commander of Chinar Corps, Indian Army, announced that terrorists must lay down guns or be killed.
"Anyone who picks up guns in Kashmir will be eliminated, unless they surrender. This is a message and request for all mothers. There is a very good surrender policy initiated by the government so they can join the mainstream and pursue their life," he added.
On Monday, three JeM terrorists were killed in a 16-hour encounter in Pulwama district, about 12 km from the site of the February 14 attack. An Army major and five others were also martyred.
