"I am very happy to be in India. We have seen such an atmosphere of friendship. We have a very long relationship. We discussed in detail on our bilateral ties and cooperation. We discussed issues in detail today as well. We discussed issues of international relevance as well. We will further deepen our bilateral ties. We discussed trade and investment".

He further extended an invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit Russia as the main guest, he said:

"It is my great pleasure to once again invite Prime Minister Modi to participate in the next Vladivostok Forum as the main guest. Russia is a reliable supplier of hydrocarbons to India. India imports Russia’s LNG. We welcome the interest of energy companies from India. We have discussed in detail the peaceful use of nuclear energy. According to the agreements, we plan to build 12 power units in the next 20 years". 

President Putin on Indo-Russia relation: 

"We discussed agriculture. Scope in infrastructure as well. We plan to prepare Indian National prog to launch the Indian space program. We maintain regular contact between the Ministry of Defence. We participated for the first time in Anti-terror exercise. Jointly, Russia and India interested always in each other’s culture and legacy".

President Putin on future prospects:

President Putin on humanitarian initiatives

"I have informed Pm about the situation in Syria. We have also spoken about US withdrawal from Iran deal. I am convinced the results will strengthen our relationship. I am looking fwd to two events today and meeting the President. PM has initiated several humanitarian initiatives. People to people to contact will help".

On Friday, prior to the joint statement of the two countries, India and Russia had signed S400 Triumf Air Defence System deal worth USD 5.430 Billion. India and Russia have finalised an alternate payment method to pay for the deals signed. Deal finalised in August. Rupee payments into Sberbank. 

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a one-on-one dinner for Russian president Vladimir Putin at his official residence on Thursday where the two leaders held a discussion on a host of issues, including bilateral cooperation and strategic issues.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter and extended a warm welcome to President of Russia.

"Welcome to India, President Putin. Looking forward to our deliberations, which will further enhance India-Russia friendship," the PM tweeted in Russian and English.
