The SP of Operations in the Doda area, Ravinder Pal Singh, has said that they have eliminated three terrorists in the joint operation with the Army on Saturday. The Indian armed forces engaged in a locked gun battle with terrorists in Ramban at Jammu on Saturday morning at 7:30 am. Later, three terrorists were trapped in the BJP worker's house in Ramban, Jammu-Kashmir. In the encounter, two police officers and one Indian soldier were martyred.  

SP of Operations speaks to Republic TV 

Speaking to Republic TV, the SP of Operations in Doda, Ravinder Pal Singh, said, “It was a joint operation launched since the morning and we are at the news of five militants, they are in the area of adjoining Doda and Ramban districts. So, both the parties from Doda as well as Ramban launched a search operation and during that, some terrorists went to a civilian home and kept them hostage. Later we made contact with them and we eliminated three of them. The civilians are safe.”

When asked if the terrorists are trying to disturb the normalcy in the region, the official answered, “The enemy always believes in destabilising the peace and harmony, however, we will also find them and eliminate them.” He also added, “These terrorists were mostly from Hizbul”. When asked about the identity of the militants involved in the infiltration the official said, “We are still finding that out, but yes Osama was one of the names.”

MoS PMO expresses relief at hostage rescue 

MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh took to Twitter and expressed relief over the rescue of all the hostages and the BJP worker Vijay. About 5-7 hostages were taken in by the terrorists. Jitendra Singh said that he is in contact with the Home Adviser of J&K. He also added that BJP state president Ramesh Sharma is also closely monitoring the situation.
