Union Minister Ramdas Athawale lauded the NDA government's plan to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill through Parliament. He dismissed the Opposition's charge that the Bill purposely leaves out Muslim immigrants from the scope of getting Indian citizenship. The Narendra Modi Cabinet has given the nod to the bill and it is expected to be tabled in both houses of the Parliament by next week.
