One of the five who laid down his life to avenge Pulwama attack was Major VS Dhoundiyal. He fought like a warrior, and gave his life to the nation in order to make sure that the terrorists were neutralized.

At the final rites ceremony of Major VS Dhoundiyal, which took place in Dehradun on Tuesday, his wife Nitika penned a heartwarming and emotional message for her brave husband, which is sure to leave every Indian teary-eyed.

I'm really proud. We all love you. The way you love everyone is entirely different because you sacrifice your life for the people who you may have never contacted, but still you decided to give your life for them.

You are such a brave man. I am very honoured to have you as my husband. I'll love you till my last breath. I owe my life to you. Yes it's hurting that you're leaving but I know you will always be around.

I'll request everyone not to sympathise, rather be very strong because this man holds a position very larger than any of us standing here. Let's salute this man. Jai Hind.

Despite having to deal with the loss of her husband, Nikita showed enormous courage, strength and bid goodbye to the Major. She proudly shouted 'Jai Hind' and parted ways with the mortal remains of her husband without shedding any tear.
