Author Chetan Bhagat on Wednesday shut down those who have tried to label India's decisive action against terror, including the IAF strike on terror camp across Line of Control on February 26, as war mongering.

Giving a befitting answer to those who called people who supported the IAF operation as 'war mongerers', he said that reacting to situations where Indian soldiers are killed is not war mongering, it was India teaching a lesson to those behind the act.

"Reacting when our soldiers are killed isn't war mongering, it is self defence. Nobody in India wants war. We were happily waiting for the next Bollywood film or cricket match before they backed a terror attack at Pulwama. They did it first. We had no choice but to teach a lesson," he tweeted.

Many those who reacted to him on his Twitter post said:

On February 26, less than two weeks after Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Air Force carried a strike at terror camps across the Line of Control killing approximately 245 foot soldiers and terrorists.

The action came after Jaish terrorists killed 40 CRPF personnel on February 14 by an ambush attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

On Wednesday, Pakistan attempted to target India's military installation in Lam and KG sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, an attempt which was duly thwarted by India. India also shot down one of Pakistan's F-16s during the retaliation.
