In a massive victory for India, after the Indian Air Forces attacked terror bases in Pakistan, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah in a series of tweets has elaborated the scope of this strike.

Through his official twitter, the NC leader shared the significance of the strike location, speculated the reaction of Pakistan and the magnitude of the strike.

Timeline of Omar Abdullah's tweets

  • Speculating Pakistan's response

Five hours earlier, as soon as the reports of the air strike surfaced across the LoC by IAF Mirage 2000, Omar Abdullah tweeted the speculations of how Pakistan might respond to the strike and that this move by India would be a 'problem' to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's commitment to his country.

The news of 1000 kg bombs being dropped on terror camps took NC leader by surprise at the magnitude of the strike, acknowledging how this was 'not a small strike'

  • Significance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Balakot

On receiving the news that IAF struck Balakot, Chakot and Muzzafarabad killing 245 terrorists, Abdullah expressed his apprehensions on the locations initially, but later acknowledged the magnanimous strike after it was known that Balakot in KPK was struck and not in Poonch sector.

While doing so, he further elaborated on the significant strike considering how Balakot was where Kashmiris were brainwashed and trained in JeM camps. He added that India has entered 'a whole new paradigm with Balakot air strike' as it was a 'preemptive strike to prevent an imminent JeM attack' and further went on to elaborate the gravity of hitting this location. He also reiterated how 'hugely embarrassing' it is for Pakistan for the IAF to drop the bomb on terror camps and fly back absolutely unscathed.

Last year, a JeM student wing Al Murabitun (AM) organised a second annual congregation of Jihadi indoctrination.

Maulana Yousuf Azhar (alias Ustad Ghouri), the brother-in-law of JeM founder Masood Azhar who was killed in the strike headed the facility in Balakot

  • Pakistan Defence

While engaging with the recent developments being disclosed of the strike, Abdullah took a starking jibe at the Pakistan Air Force for their tweet where they said 'sleep tight because PAF is awake', few hours before the attack.

  • Safety of LOC residents

Following the attack, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir called to ensure the safety of the people living around the line of control and international border.
