In Republic Bharat’s investigation into the 1984 riots, eyewitness working at the Gurudwara Rakabganj recalled the night when Kamal Nath ordered the killing of Sikhs by shouting slogans like “Maaro, they killed our mother” as he incited the mobs.

The Republic sting brought out the voices of the witnesses who weaved a link of the anti-Sikh riots with the Congress leadership through their testimonials, underlining the political involvement of Kamal Nath, Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.

Mukhtiyar Singh, an eyewitness in the 1984 riots, who during the riots was working at Gurudwara Rakabganj, revealed how the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh is "lying" about not being in the incitement in the provocation on-ground, further emphasising how he himself saw Kamal Nath inciting violence and egging on rioters.

The eyewitness said, "Kamal Nath is lying. He was inside. He was in the Gurudwara compound. He incited the mob to burn Gurudwara, he had a lot of people with him. He made noise and said 'Maaro, they killed our mother', and they killed."

The witness busts the notion that chief minister Kamal Nath had no connection to the riots, and the slogan "Maaro, they killed our mother" puts on record for the first time that the violence was induced by justifying the assassination of then PM Indira Gandhi.

Following the explosive investigation of Republic Bharat that cracked the Congress link to the genocide, senior advocate HS Phoolka who has been relentlessly fighting for justice in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots said that he would submit the investigation tapes to the Home Ministry to order to seek a case against the big fish - Congressmen Kamal Nath and Jagdish Tytler - who are alleged to be involved in it.

He said, "I am going to the Home Ministry with the copy of the sting. I will ask the Home Ministry to direct the SIT to reopen the case against whom statements were made in the sting, and that the SIT record the statements of those who were stung, so fresh case be made against big fish Kamal Nath and Jagdish Tytler."
