A week ago, BJP Bihar ally, JD(U) instructed the district police officers to collect information on the RSS and its functionaries along with those of other organisations associated with the Sangh in the state.
Besides RSS, the 18 Sangh outfits named in the letter include the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagaran Samiti, ABVP, Akhil Bharatiya Shikshak Mahasangh, Hindu Mahasabha, among others. In the letter, the Bihar Police has been asked to gather the details including names, telephone numbers, addresses and business associations of all office-bearers (presidents, vice-presidents, secretaries, among others) of the RSS and its following associate organizations within a week. The officer has further demanded the notice to be considered very important.
