S Jaishankar wishes Home Minister Amit Shah On His 55th Birthday

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar extended birthday wishes to Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, October 22. On the occasion of Amit Shah's 55th birthday, Jaishankar lauded the Home Minister for his crucial role in strengthening the country. Jaishankar extended his wishes through Twitter.

Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar wrote:

"Happy Birthday to Union Minister and honourable National President Amit Shah Ji. You have played an important role in further strengthening India. I pray to god for your health and longevity," said Jaishankar

PM Modi wishes Amit Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished Amit Shah on his birthday. PM Modi channelled his wishes through Twitter and highlighted Amit Shah's abilities in the party and his contribution to India. Here's what he said:

"Heartiest birthday wishes to Amit Shah, a working, experienced, skilled organizer and my colleague in the Cabinet. Apart from playing a valuable role in government, he is also contributing significantly in empowering and securing India. May God give him longevity and keep them healthy forever," said PM Modi

Amit Shah's career

Amit Shah was born in Mumbai in 1964 and was brought up at his paternal village in Maansa, Gujarat till the age of 16. Shah briefly worked for Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of RSS before joining the BJP in 1984-85. Shah was commended for his organizational skills and was later appointed as the National Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. Further, he was appointed as the State Secretary and State Vice President of the party in Gujarat. In the Narendra Modi-led Gujarat government, he headed several key portfolios. Known for his sharp political acumen, Shah took over as the BJP president soon after NDA emerged victorious in 2014 general elections.

A trusted aide of Narendra Modi, Shah was appointed as the party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh just ahead of the 2014 national elections. With one Lok Sabha elections and assembly polls of Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, his record as the BJP president has been unmatchable. In May 2019 after BJP received a complete majority in the general election, Shah was sworn in as the home minister in the new cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since then, Shah has led the government in several mammoth decisions including the abrogation of Article 370.
