Meanwhile, Chandigarh local residents on Friday had launched a cleanliness drive to clean and preserve the 400-year-old Dalpat Sagar Lake in Jagdalpur of Bastar district. According to reports, the drive was carried out by the locals after claiming that the administration in the area was not taking up any steps to prevent the contamination of the water body. The contamination has been affecting the flora and fauna around the wetlands. According to a local, the contamination has affected marine life due to a severe fall in oxygen levels in the water.
