Senior Congress Leaders Miffed Over Rahul Gandhi's Tweet Mocking Armed Forces On International Yoga Day, Expect Him To Be More Mature: Sources

Senior leaders of the Congress party are displeased with Congress president Rahul Gandhi's contentious tweet that was posted on International Yoga Day, according to sources. 

The move that led to an uproar across the country after the Congress president mocked the Security Forces as they participated to mark the day on June 21. 

Republic sources confirm that the senior leaders in the Congress party opined that the Congress president should have behaved maturely, especially after a humiliating 2019 Lok Sabha election performance. 

According to sources, they were of the opinion that at least after the results, wherein the grand old party could only manage to secure 55 seats, with Rahul Gandhi losing his bastion in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, the Congress president should understand the significance of the message he floats. 

In a post, Rahul Gandhi shared a picture of four security dogs of the Army Dog Unit following their human counterparts performing yoga, and called it 'New India'

The Congress president managed to find a flaw in an innocent picture that was circulated across the internet and was adorned by the masses, wherein the canines of the Armed Forces were practising yoga.

The four-legged security forces could be seen in pictures performing Yoga, alongside their security forces. 

In the first visual the four canines could be seen standing on their two hind legs with the other two in the air, in sync with the security forces performing yoga right opposite to them. 

In the second visual, along with the security forces, the Army dog unit could be going down to give their backs a good stretch.

Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called out the Congress president over his mockery of the Security Forces. 

"Congress stands for negativity," said Union Minister Amit Shah, further "hoping" that the spirit of positivity will prevail.

Whereas, the Defence Minister reminded Rahul Gandhi that the Army Dog Unit are proud members of the Indian Army who contribute to the safety of our nation.
