Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been seen with Mithoo Madan at the Attari-Wagah border while returning from Pakistan on November 29.
Madan is seen walking right behind Sidhu clapping his hands as the Congress leader waves at the crowd.
Madan had organised the Dusehra event in Amritsar, where the horrific train tragedy took place killing over 60 people.
On the eve of Dussehra, over 60 people were killed in the Joda Fatak area in Amritsar in Punjab after a train ran over them. The victims were among those who were in attendance for a Dussehra event organised by Madan. Navjot Singh Sidhu's wife Navjot Kaur had given a speech at the event.
Madan's mother is a Congress Councillor in the state. In an earlier video, Mithoo was seen fleeing from the scene after the tragedy took place. He has been reported to be missing by media since the tragedy took place.
In the aftermath of the train accident in Amritsar, investigations revealed that the function was held at that location without getting proper permissions from the state and local authorities. While accepting there was negligence on all ends, Sidhu, a day after the incident, stated that it wasn't intentional.
"No one has done this on purpose. It was negligence and when I say negligence, many would have still not understood their responsibility. But no one intended to do it. It was no one's motive. And the other thing is that many times, man feels helpless in front of god's will. This is an accident. No one has done anything on purpose. So don't level wrong allegations, don't play politics over it."
Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has been facing flak since his hug to Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. He has received more criticism since his visit to Pakistan for the Kartarpur Corridor event, where he was seen with Khalistani aide Gopal Singh Chawla, exchanged praises with Pakistan PM Imran Khan, and even brought up Rafale deal when asked about his hug to General Bajwa.
