Triggering a massive controversy, former Union Minister Arun Shourie has slammed the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, calling surgical strikes against Pakistan “farzical” or fake. Shourie also alleged that there has been no improvement in the ground situation in Kashmir even after the surgical strike
Shourie further lashed out at the government, saying the government is taking credit and patting itself on the back for the job done by the Indian Army. However, later sensing trouble, the former Union Minister clarified that he used the moniker “farzical” for the government and not for the army.
The former BJP leader issued the statements while attending senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz’s book launch. Soz himself is in troubled waters after issuing a series of outrageous statements on “Kashmir”.
After triggering a controversy for backing former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s stance on Kashmir, senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz has made another claim. Soz has now claimed that leader of Independent India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, had offered Kashmir to Pakistan in exchange of Hyderabad.
When Republic TV’s Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami confronted him, Soz reiterated his stance and insisted that he just stated the fact about Patel's wish. He also said that he never said anything about Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru.
Earlier on April 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave out a stern message to Pakistan over terrorism perpetrated from its soil on India when asked about the Surgical strikes, at the Bharat Ki Baat Sabke Saath event in London.
"When someone is sitting and running a terrorism industry and sits ready to attack India's innocent citizens... Doesn't have the strength to fight a war but knows how to attack when our back is turned... This is Modi. He knows how to answer them in their own language ("Yeh Modi hai, usi bhasha meinjawab dena janta hai")," PM Modi had said.
