In a dramatic incident, a massive arms haul has been recovered from the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh by the police and the SWAT ( Special Weapons, and Tactics) team on Wednesday.
The massive cache of explosives has been recovered from the top of a house in a remote village of the district. Here are the details of the explosives seized by the Uttar Pradesh police from the Naraini sector of the Banda district in the state:
The police are currently looking into how such a massive amount of explosives were brought into the village without police surveillance. It has been taken into account that it is not a locally procured haul, but the explosives have been acquired from nearby villages or district.
Two people have been arrested so far by the police in the matter and the investigation is further underway. Meanwhile, senior Uttar Pradesh police officers and the SWAT teams are present on the spot.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was slated to be in the Bandra district, from where the explosives have been recovered, on April 25, to address an election rally.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is set to go into polls in all seven phases with the first phase of elections successfully conducted on April 11. The second phase of elections will take place on April 18 in the country.
