In a video that was recorded in downtown Srinagar that defies the fearmongering that has been carried out by vested interests over the state of affairs, kids were seen playing an enthusiastic game of street cricket with CRPF Jawans and Officers. The video was recorded on September 9 in Bohri Kadal, Srinagar and accessed by Republic TV's Jammu Bureau Chief Tejinder Singh Sodhi. CRPF Assistant Commandant Kashyap Kadagattur, who was playing with the kids, said, “I saw kids playing cricket and joined them. It was fun playing and sharing my cricket experience with talented kids.”
In the video, the kids were playing cricket on an empty street where the officer joines them. Assistant Commandant Kashyap can be seen bowling off-spin to the kids who were more than happy to take on his deliveries. In the three-minutes long video, the officer bowled multiple deliveries and the other Jawans in the background can be heard praising the kid for his batting skills and later took the wicket as well. The Assistant Commandant also batted for a brief moment before passing the bat to the other kids. The officer also shook hands with the people passing by. At the end of the video, the officer talked to the kids before returning to his duties.
The video captures the essence of the CRPF's efforts to ensure normalcy in the lives of Kashmiris since the abrogation of Article 370, following which there has also been a parallel agenda to disturb the peace, or portray that effect. Nothing exemplifies the CRPF's endeavours more than the Madadgaar programme which has been aiding the people of Kashmir since August 5 by providing them with necessary supplies like medicines and food. They have handled more than 34,000 calls from which the majority of calls were enquiries about the well-being of families and relatives living in Kashmir. The CRPF team has personally visited the houses of people to establish contact between the caller and the family, while communications have been restricted in light of Pakistan's use of social media to incite. In testimonial videos, Kashmiris have spoken about how the Madadgaar has helped them, particularly in matters related to their health and welfare.
