Vivek spoke to reporters after visiting the Election Commission office in Delhi, where the matter over the stalling of his film ‘PM Narendra Modi’ is pending.  When asked about the controversial comment, the actor said, “I just want to say that to make such a comment against a woman’s dignity, by such a big and respected leader, Azam sahab (who) has so many followers,  it sends out a wrong message. I’m not aware about the entire controversy, but I believe that in our country, where it is difficult for women to progress, we need to work hard as a society to empower them. And this (the comment) is not in that direction.”

Khan and Prada are both contesting from the Rampur constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

While addressing a rally in the city on Sunday, the former said, " I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki  underp ****."

Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj and many other leaders condemned the shocking comments and demanded that the Samajwadi Party take action against Khan.

Moreover, taking cognisance of the lewd 'khaki undergarment' comment on BJP's Jaya Prada, the Election Commission on Monday has issued a notice to Khan imposing a 72-hour prohibition starting 10 am on Tuesday and further reprimanded the leader for his remark.
