Sunny Deol pays his tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in the horrific attack in Gadchiroli, read what he said

In a shocking incident, fifteen security personnel and a driver have been martyred in an IED blast carried out by Maoists attack in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli on Wednesday.  Following the same, several Bollywood stars and prominent personalities including Javed Akhtar, Vivek Agnihotri and Ashoke Pandit among others came forward to condemn the brutal attack. Joining the bandwagon was actor turned politician Sunny Deol who took to Twitter to pay tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in the terrible attack.

Addressing a message to the families of jawans, in a recent post, he wrote, "My tributes to the martyrs & jawans who lost their lives in terrible #NaxalAttack on our security personnel in #Gadchiroli, #Maharashtra. I pray for the families of jawans and wish the injured a speedy recovery."

On Wednesday afternoon, Maoists triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) in order to blow up the police vehicle on the Kurkheda-Korchi road in Gadchiroli. 15 police personnel of the C60 Commando and their driver have been killed in the attack. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack, saluting the brave forces and affirmed that their sacrifices will not be forgotten. 

About the attack:

An IED blast was carried out by Maoists on a police vehicle on Wednesday in Gadchiroli area of Maharashtra. As per reports, several officers of the C60 Commando Unit had suffered injuries. Sixteen jawans have been martyred in the attack.

The incident happened when 20 jawans of Quick Response Team were on their way to the sight where the Maoists burnt the vehicles later last night on April 30. 

Meanwhile, the injured jawans have been shifted to the nearby hospital. More details awaited. 

As per sources from the Gadchiroli Police, around 200-250 Maoist on Tuesday night attacked a construction site and these Maoists are known to be a part of the Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh Dalam (Naxal units).
