'Superman of Assam': Traffic cop fights thunder and blinding rain, stands like a mountain to perform his duty

Amid a heavy thundershower that hit the Assam last evening, a traffic constable was seen standing and performing his duty with exemplary dedication.

Amid a heavy thundershower that hit the Assam last evening, a traffic constable was seen standing and performing his duty with exemplary dedication. Even though it was raining cats and dogs, Mithun Das, a traffic cop was seen standing in the Basistha area in the capital city and controlling the busy traffic without a raincoat. Assam Police, on their official twitter handle, tweeted a video and various photos of Mithun facing the thunder. "We salute AB Constable Mithun Das (Basistha PS) of @GuwahatiPol, for his exceptional devotion towards duty and showing us how dedication can turn a storm into a sprinkle. Kudos!", the caption read.

Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia also tweeted words of appreciation for the constable. "The visuals of the traffic Constable Mithun Das (Basistha PS) are truly inspirational. I personally talked to him and conveyed my appreciations. I also hail all the @assampolice Personnel like him, who stand against such adversities everyday, without being recorded", he wrote.

Twitter saluted the police constable for his dedication. Some people have also called him the Superman of Assam.
