Sushma Swaraj passes away: LK Advani calls it an irreparable loss, shares how she got him chocolate cake every birthday

BJP's senior leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after suffering a heart attack.

BJP's senior leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after suffering a heart attack. Devastated with the untimely demise of one of his closest colleagues, BJP veteran LK Advani said that Sushma Swaraj was someone who he has known and worked with since the beginning of her illustrious innings in the party. 

In his statement paying tribute to the prominent political figure, Advani added that when he was BJP President in the eighties, Swaraj was a promising young activist who he had inducted into the team. Hailing her zeal and dedication towards the work, the veteran BJP leader further added that "she became one of the most popular and prominent leaders of the party- a role model for women leaders.

"A brilliant orator", Advani called the former EAM adding that she touched everyone with her warmth and compassionate nature. Adding that it is an irreparable loss for him, the former BJP chief said that he could not recall a single year when she missed bringing his favourite chocolate cake to me his birthday.

PM Modi pays tribute

On Tuesday night, PM Modi took to Twitter and expressed grief over her demise, saying that it is 'an end of a glorious chapter in politics'. He added that she was 'excellent administrator', and 'set high standards in every Ministry she handled'.

Sushma Swaraj's last words

The former EAM in her last words on public platform had thanked PM Modi for scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Taking to Twitter, she had thanked PM Modi over the successful revocation of Article 370, saying that she had been "waiting to see this day in her lifetime".
