Sushma Swaraj Passes Away: Long-time aide Mahesh Jethmalani reminisces outstanding work by the former External Affairs Minister

BJP's senior leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after suffering a cardiac arrest. Senior advocate and former member of National Executive of BJP, Mahesh Jethmalani expressed his condolences. 

Jethmalani said that he first met Swaraj during the Anti-Emergency movement as a part of the JP movement (Bihar Movement). Jethmalani, a longtime aide of Swaraj said that she aced at every position she held:

"There is very little that you cannot say about her because she has been outstanding in every field." he said

Describing her as a popular leader, Jethmalani mentioned her remarkable designations in her political career:

"She has broken glass ceilings being the first female Chief Minister of Delhi. First female Leader of the Opposition and the first External Affairs Minister in the Union Cabinet." Jethmalani added.

Describing her as an outstanding Parliamentarian, Jethmalani further described Swaraj's meticulous dedication in her service to the nation.

"She always had a human touch and never shied away from fighting electoral battles, even if the odds were against her."

Jethmalani also described her as a daughter of India who also dedicated herself to her party:

"She has been a local servant of the party and a servant of the nation. Sushma Swaraj served India with outmost distinction. The nation truly mourns her demise. Her loss is across political divide, nationally and internationally from all walks of life." he said
