RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday finally moved into Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi's former bungalow at 1, Polo Road. His elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav went to the residence to review the bungalow. Speaking to media outside the bungalow, Tej Pratap Yadav went on a rant about the problems he saw in the house. However, the RJD leader added that with his entry in the house, it has become pure and pious. But, from dirtiness to termites, Tej Pratap claimed that Sushil Modi did not maintain the government bungalow well.
"It WAS Sushil Modi's bungalow. Now, with my footprints, it has become pure. The bungalow was in wear and tear condition. It was so dirty. Things were broken. He (Sushil Modi) had broken the chair, bed. Rats had created a hole in the chairs. There were termites. It felt like he (Sushil Modi) turned it into hell. With my footprints, it has turned pure," said Tej Pratap Yadav speaking to media outside the residence.
Meanwhile, after moving into the house on Tuesday, Tejashwi also called a meeting of the RJD's Backward Cell at the bungalow. Earlier, he had refused to stay in the residence of Polo Road. But after he had to empty his previous residence of 5, Desharatna Marg's bungalow following a long battle with the Bihar government, Tejashwi Yadav finally has a new address. Tejashwi Yadav lost the deputy chief minister post upon Nitish Kumar's exit from the grand alliance in July 2017.
Speculations have been rife over feud with the Lalu Prasad Yadav family. Recently, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav skipped the party's 23rd Foundation Day celebrations in Patna. Sources had told that Tejashwi was allegedly miffed with elder brother Tej Pratap who had attended the celebrations with mother Rabri Devi and other senior RJD leaders. These developments came after the RJD failed to win a single seat in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while the BJP-JD(U)-LJP managed to win 39 of the 40 seats.
With Nitish Kumar as the face, the JDU has started its preparations for the 2020 assembly elections. The party on Tuesday introduced a new slogan for the state elections that are scheduled next year. However, Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD took to Twitter and criticised Nitish Kumar. The RJD also wrote four-line poetry criticising the poster. It said: "Bihar has decided. They don't want Kumar who praises himself. You can decide for yourself. Take retirement and go to Tihar."
