This former Air India staffer is running a 4000 km megathon from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Here's Sufiya Sufee's incredible story

33-year- old Sufiya Sufee, a marathon runner from Delhi is on an exclusive mission, one which will need extreme willpower and physical strength. She has decided to run 4000 kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 100 days, with her aim behind this challenging task being to bring people of the country together.

33-year- old Sufiya Sufee, a marathon runner from Delhi is on an exclusive mission, one which will need extreme willpower and physical strength. She has decided to run 4000 kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 100 days, with her aim behind this challenging task being to bring people of the country together.

Sufia has already crossed 11 states, 25 cities and thousands of villages along her route. She and her team have been posting live videos on Facebook all along, updating her supporters about her progress. They have just crossed Mumbai and are now on their way to Lonavala. Sufia expressed in the video how happy she is with the support and love she is getting from people in all the cities and villages she has crossed.

On her way, Sufiya also met the Mayor of Thane, Ms. Minakshi Shinde.

Along with Ms. Minakshi in a press conference, Sufiya spoke about her motive behind running 4000-kilometers. She emphasized on the hate and negativity that is being spread through social media and added that she has decided that this run will be a great way to defeat this issue. This is just a part of Sufiya's cause behind this run, her main message is spreading HOPE: Humanity, Oneness, Peace, and Equality.

Sufiya started her marathon from Jammu and Kashmir on 25th April and since then has crossed Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. Sufia has quit her job as a ground handler with Air India to focus on running and spreading important messages through the same. Before this marathon, Sufia had covered 720 km in 15 days. 

Earlier this year, for International Woman's Day, over 200 women bikers across Dehradoon hit difficult and hilly terrains during an all- women bike rally. The rally carried a clear message- 'biking is no longer a man's domain' and saw women from different domains take a break from their daily routines, to participate in a 55km journey.
