Three reasons why #NetasForNetas

Wednesday was an example of what we have always been fearing of. As national outrage unfolded over farmers protests and injustice faced by former DIG D. Roopa, some of our leaders decided to look after themselves in our Parliament as they came up with theories and ideas.

Republic World puts forth three reasons on why #NetasForNetas

1. You suffer, MLA gets 100% hike

While farmers in Tamil Nadu continue to protest, the netas of the State have gifted themselves a salary hike. Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced a 100% hike in salary for incumbent MLAs. Former MLAs are also set to receive a hike. This decision comes at a time when Tamil Nadu farmers have been protesting at the capital demanding for the drought relief fund which was promised to them.

Merely hours before the announcement, a group of 160 farmers' organisations were protesting at Jantar Mantar. Farmer organisations from Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and few other States were a part of the protest.

2. You fight, Rowdy MP gets away

IndiGo Airlines, on Wednesday, confirmed that that ban on TDP MP Diwakar Reddy had been revoked. The development comes after the airline officials met with Reddy, who had assaulted the airline's staff at Visakhapatnam airport.

In a massive political superstring, Republic TV’s Prema Sridevi had exposed the lies and actions of Reddy, fifteen days after his assault on an airline staffer and creating a ruckus.

Admitting that he was in a “hurry mood”, the Minister claimed that he did not push the IndiGo staffer, but had “only touched him in a friendly manner”.

3. Your issue pending, MP fights for hike

On the third day of the Monsoon Parliament,  Naresh Agrawal of the Samajwadi Party and Anand Sharma of the Congress raised the issue of MP's salary and demanded a pay hike, in the Rajya Sabha.

Republic TV is in possession of documents listing the Congress' strategy in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. It has listed issues which it plans on using to disrupt the Parliament.

However, instead of standing strong and highlighting the concerns of OUR Parliament, Naresh Agrawal asked for a pay hike and was backed by the Congress leader.

Are MPs today batting for their own rather than us all?

#MyIssueMyParliament

On every day of this Monsoon session, Republic World, will take up, talk about issues and your concerns that have fallen on deaf ears. Identify the issues you want your Parliament to debate. We will ensure that your voice is heard in the corridors of power.

It's time the people set the agenda for OUR Parliament.
