Train services to resume from November 11 in Union Territory of J&K

In a major relief to the people of Kashmir, the government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday decided to resume the Railway services in the Kashmir Valley from November 11. The decision came after a meeting headed by Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Baseer Khan, along with senior officials of the railway department. Jammu and Kashmir Government has directed the railway authorities to conduct a track inspection within three days. Post track inspection, a trial run is scheduled for November 10, and the resumption of services from November 11.

Train services were suspended in Kashmir Valley on August 5 after the abrogation of article 370 and 35A. Sources told Republic TV that due to suspension of train services in the Kashmir Valley, the department had suffered a huge loss of around 300 crores. Train services remain suspended in Kashmir Valley for 94 consecutive days for this decision was taken by the state government.

The security of the train services will remain a major challenge for the security forces as Pakistan and its proxy terrorists are trying hard to disrupt the peace process and prevailing normalcy in Kashmir Valley. Jammu and Kashmir Government has also asked the police chief of Kashmir to ensure the security of the trains which resumes in the Kashmir Valley from next week.

11 non-locals killed

Since abrogation of the article 370, frustrated Pakistan and its terrorist have killed 11 non-locals associated with apple trade and construction works in Kashmir to send a message to all, that anyone defying their call of total shutdown in Kashmir Valley will be killed; however this has seen almost no impact on the ground as shops continue to remain open.

 The security forcer were put on alert in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in July before Union Government's decision to abrogate Article 370 and 35A, which gave the state of Jammu and Kashmir special status for 70 long years, and decided to bifurcate the straight into two Union Territories; the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the union territory of Ladakh which will now be governed by Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu and Lt. Governor RK Mathur respectively.
