Tripura:Police enhance security cover for safe Durga Puja celebrations

The Tripura police on Saturday, October 5, have geared up their security measures to ensure an "incident-free" and safe Durga Puja celebrations in the State

The Tripura police have geared up security on October 5, to ensure an "incident-free" Durga Puja celebrations in the State. According to the police, the security measures are being taken in order to experience a safe celebration in the state, said the Director-General of Police (DGP), AK Shukla. 

The security measures 

According to reports, around 9,250 security personnel including 5,150 from the Tripura State Rifles and 4,100 police personnel will be deployed throughout the State. Along with it, around 325 police vans will be available for immediate action around the state. Police officials will be available everywhere in civil uniforms. According to the DGP, AK Shukla, the 'Dial 100 Police Seva' will be monitored carefully and will be available all day and night. Further reports stated that this year, around 2,459 clubs and community Durga Puja committees have registered with the Tripura Police and taken permission from them for Durga Puja. Out of the total number of clubs and communities, 869 pujas are taking place in the urban areas while 1,590 are taking place in rural areas. In Agartala, over 500 Durga Puja pandals have been set up. Apart from this, the police officials have asked the Puja organizers to install CCTV cameras in every pandal.

Other states gearing up security 

According to reports, the Durga puja committees of Baripada town in Odisha have been advised by the police and the fire department to make security arrangements and install CCTV cameras at their pandals. Further reports stated that every pandal in Baripada will have two fire extinguishers, two barrels of water and sand around the generator as a safety measure. Apart from this, the Delhi police is also intensifying it's patrolling and frisking as Dussehra and Durga Puja are around the corner. According to reports, they are also taking anti-terror precautions and gearing up extreme safety measures in the capital.
